Global warming refers to the increase in the average temperature of the Earth's near-surface air and oceans in recent decades and its projected continuation.
The global average air temperature near the Earth's surface rose… (more) 0.74 ± 0.18 °C (1.33 ± 0.32 °F) during the last 100 years. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concludes, "most of the observed increase in globally averaged temperatures since the mid-20th century is very likely due to the observed increase in anthropogenic greenhouse gas concentrations"[1] via the greenhouse effect. Natural phenomena such as solar variation combined with volcanoes probably had a small warming effect from pre-industrial times to 1950 and a small cooling effect from 1950 onward.[2][3] These basic conclusions have been endorsed by at least 30 scientific societies and academies of science, including all of the national academies of science of the major industrialized countries. While individual scientists have voiced disagreement with some of the main conclusions of the IPCC, the overwhelming majority of scientists working on climate change are in agreement with them.

Seiko Watches solution to global warming: Kinetic Technology
This revolutionary micro technology is now present in the majority of high end Seiko Watches. The oscillating motor within the watch is used to transfer the energy from the motion of the wearer’s arm to the electrical storage unit. We decided to put the Kinetic motor to the test, find out how it ticks, and see how it performs in real life use.
Hot topic: Evangelicals debate global warming
For Earth Day, observers weigh in on the Evangelical Climate Initiative, a program that began as a frustrated response to the National Association of Evangelicals’ reluctance to adopt a position on global warming. The initiative hopes to motivate evangelicals to be more Earth-friendly and use their political clout to influence environmental policy.
The Affect of Plastic Bags on our Environment

Go Green? Enough Already
Drive a puny, fuel efficient car or hybrid; use an ugly little light bulb that emits a dull light and is hazardous when broken; wear a sweater in your own home in the winter and don’t be afraid to sweat in the summer; all in the name of “going green”. I’m tired of being lectured to on how to live my life by elitists who don’t even follow their own rules.
It's A Bit Early For A Freeze, Isn't it?
A frost is about to hit the northeast US, in some places a month early. Could this be La Nina at work?
